Most of us are aware of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. While it has the potential to have done great things across the nation, there remains a significant amount of skepticism about the funding and its purposes. The longer it takes for the funding to directly affect me or my neighborhood, the harder it is to figure out if anyone is going to see benefits from these funds.
Community Action Agencies will be granted portions of the entitlement funding from these ARRA funds, creating new programs, hiring new staff, and impacting communities in ways that traditional funding wouldn't allow. We are now at a point of starting to report out on funds that were legislated in February. This information will be shared on www.recovery.gov as each program's data is compiled and approved at the State level.
The Recovery Board has launched this website, and the accompanying video will show you just how to access the information provided from across the nation. http://www.recovery.gov/About/chairman/Pages/Sept28.aspx
